Sometimes, after installation, when you try to start a program such as the Sequence Editor, the program will not start, and instead a message will pop up, saying:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Light-O-Rama.msi' in the box below.
This typically is because Windows is confused about what is, and what is not, installed.  For situations like this, Microsoft has made a tool called the "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility".  It can be found, along with directions, at the following location:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Please refer to that page for how to use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, but here's the basic idea:

(1) Download the installer for the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from that web page.

(2) Close all of your running programs, especially LOR programs (if any are running), including not just things like the Sequence Editor, but also the LOR Control Panel (the light bulb icon in your computer's system tray).

(3) Run the installer for the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

(4) After it installs, run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility itself.

(5) It will present you with a list of installed programs.  Select any and all "Light-O-Rama" programs, and tell it to clean them up.

(6) Close the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

(7) Reinstall Light-O-Rama.

I had all the fore mentioned problems. What I did to get LOR to work was to delete everything LOR and start from scratch. I also ran LOR registry wipe and windows install clean up program. When my computer was empty of LOR, I down loaded LOR 2.5.6 and followed the instructions and now I'am a happy guy, it all works so far.:D

I have removed a reply from this thread, which seems to be regarding a different installation issue, and moved it to its own thread in the LOR 2 forum.  I will send a PM to the person who posted it momentarily, so that he or she knows where to find it.

Please limit replies to threads in the "Troubleshooting FAQs" section to those specifically related to the problem that the thread is about, so as to keep the thread concise and helpful for its specific problem.  Thanks!
