Well I would like to do a 20 FT Mega Arch for the christmas show. I understand how to construct it. My main questions are as fallows.

1. Can I only use 6 Ch's? I only have 16 Ch LOR and would like to reserve 10 for the house and trees.

2. What sequence do I need to make the arch go 1,2,3,4,5,6  6,5,4,3,2,1. I want the jumping effect and the back and forth like holdmanchristmas.com

This file shows a number of different arch effects.  It is set up for 7 channels, but I bet you could adapt it hahahaha.

I don't have any operating arches (yet!) but I have read that either 7 or 8 is the "best" number to get smooth action.  I have seen so many great effects posted here that a channel expansion is in my future.  After all, we are in Texas, and everything is bigger here LMAO.  I can see an expansion in your future also.

Yes, you can use just six channels.  I'm an odd channel man myself.  The more channels you have the more control and smoother the movement will be.

As for the programming, it's simply a matter of turning on channel 1, turn on channel 2, turn off channel 1, turn on channel 3, turn off channel 2, turn on channel 4, etc.

The duration of these events will depend on the speed you want to sweep to occur.  You may want to ramp on and off each segment.  Slower ramp off's will produce a tail effect.

There is no right or wrong.  There are many different effects that can be done with arches.

There is some sample programming either here or PC.  I am sure someone will attach a screen shot to illustrate.

1 billion dollars.

Here is the last summer sale.

They sometimes have an inventory reduction sale in February.

I am currently at 32 channels and hoping to add one more controller this year. Something that I resorted to last year was I built two arches and then married them together with extension cords. They mirrored each other by hooking them up together.

They are never enough controllersf or extension cords and I have way more ideas than I have a budget for!
