You say you can make sequences without music; are you trying to add music to it AFTER you make the sequence?  Also, what is the file extension of your sequence after you save it?  Can you open the sequence (without the music) after you save it?  I believe you can find out the version of LOR 1 that you are using by going to the help menu.  Not sure on this though.

OK the LOR software I have is the 1.6.9

I have not made a sequence and then tried to add music. I have only tried to create a new musical sequence.

Oh and just to clarify. I am going through all this crap so that I can use this laptop just for my LOR show. The laptop I am using can't easily be hooked up to the internet so if I have to update the Windows Media Player I will have to put it on a disk.

Are you running 98SE?

If it makes it easier for you, I can email a the LOR installer and media player, then you just have to put them on a disk.

I have LOR installed and it is running. I can make sequences without music. ALL I am having trouble with is getting it to create a new musical sequence. The MP3 file plays in Windows Media Player.

I have no idea but I know it is before Windows media Player 6. It most likely is 2 or 3 I would guess. How would I find out?

You can find out the version of most programs from the menu. Typically you go to Help then About.

It will bring up a box like below. This is showing version 9.

Well.  therein would lie your problem.  LOR 1.69 requires at least WMP 9.

Open media player and under the help menu, click on About.  That will tell you the version.

If you don't see the help menu,  I think if you right click on the background around the limited menu, you can get an option for "show classic menus" This should bring up the normal windows menu, so you can select "Help/about" and find the version number there.

It says it is Windows Media Player version 7.00.00.1956

So if I can't connect the laptop to the internet how do I upgrade to version 9? Any ideas.

Download it on another pc, then, burn it to a disk or thumb drive so it can be taken to the other pc.

If you go to the link below, you can choose which version you want to download. It looks like WMP 9 is the version you should use on Windows 98SE. (I didn't think we've ever clarified what operating system you are using.)

Just reading through this thread... It sounds like we're at the fish market.

If you upgrade from LOR 1 to 2, all of your problems will be solved.  But, you can't upgrade unless you are the original owner of the software.  The reason for this, is you need the original email address to get the license key.

If the software is pirated in any way, you'll never to be able to upgrade and support can be lost later down the road.
